After
We moved the aging leather couch and the television downstairs and created an informal family/TV room in the basement for her grown boys and their families.
In the living room, we placed her sofas parallel to each other which ‘squares’ and modernizes the room. A stitchwork from her grandmother now stands in one corner as a eye-catching piece of art.
You may note that the coffee table and beautiful area rug were rotated 90 degrees to create a sitting area where guests can have a relaxing conversation or a tea.
The bookshelf looks much less cluttered from transferring her displayed crystal into the dining room - a more appropriate place to store glasses - and rearranging and eliminating some of the hundreds of books, some of which were piled haphazardly. In fact, there now exists a ‘library’ for her grand-daughter in the downstairs family/TV room!
Overall the room looks much less cluttered, and much more glamorous!
